2014 Heart Walk Set for Northeast Atlanta

Bill Chegwidden, president of CDH Partners, Inc., located in Marietta, Georgia, recently became a cabinet member of the 2014 Northwest Atlanta Heart Walk, which benefits the American Heart Association (AHA). This year the Heart Walk, which is scheduled for October 25, will celebrate its 10th Anniversary. The event will take place at Kennesaw State University and over 2,000 supporters are expected to attend.

Each year, the main goal for the Heart Walk is to educate the community about cardiovascular disease and to fund essential research to fight the disease. Officials for the AHA say, “If the tide doesn’t turn, heart disease will be the leading cause of death throughout the world by 2020.” The AHA reports that every 33 seconds someone in the United States dies from cardiovascular disease making it the number one cause of death in the United States among men and women.

Chegwidden’s role as a cabinet member means that he is spearheading and actively promoting the event. He is reaching out to local businesses and industry partners to further the cause. He will be meeting monthly to work with Heart Association Staff and fellow cabinet members to determine the direction of the fundraising and to help champion all aspects of the event.

Erin West a member of the CDH architectural studio and in house coordinator for the event says, “We have started recruiting a team made up of employees and employee family members. With Bill Chegwidden leading the cause, our CDH goal is to join the fight against heart disease and to promote healthy lifestyles. In fact, our team-oriented culture sees this as an exciting event. We are eager to be a part of this year’s Heart Walk and to help save lives.”
