First Baptist Church of Jacksonville –
To expand their outreach, First Baptist Church of Jacksonville launched its satellite campus at a local high school gymnasium in Nocatee, a planned community near Ponte Vedra Beach. After experiencing rapid growth, they decided to invest in a permanent but flexible home so their ministry could grow along with the community. We used a thorough master planning process to help them assess their needs, and together, we developed a two-phase solution for sustainable future growth.
In a nod to their humble beginnings, Nocatee wanted to give back to their supportive community and provide a recreational space. Therefore, their main meeting space is actually a multi-purpose room. We designed a space which serves as a state-of-the-art auditorium on Sunday mornings and as a gymnasium during the week.
The full scope of the project provides everything the congregation needs to fulfill their ministries, invite new members and adapt for growth. The church has generous interior and exterior gathering space, full-service cafés, a kitchen, classrooms, music rooms, an administration suite, separate youth ministry, athletic fields and more.
As an extension of First Baptist Jacksonville family, the beautiful, functional new facilities focus on its local connections and community outreach. The church’s goal is to be a part of and essential to one of the fastest growing communities in the country. The campus is a welcome addition to Nocatee, providing its residents a place for recreation, learning, a sense of community, and of course, a meaningful worship experience.
