Northeast Georgia Health System Corporate Office
As a rapidly growing healthcare provider, the Northeast Georgia Health System (NEGHS) needed to centralize several administrative support functions under one roof. The new Oakwood location is midway between the two main hospital campuses at Braselton and Gainesville. We designed a solution using the same principles that guide NEGHS’s entire system—comfort, efficiency and employee satisfaction.
We converted the office from a retail warehouse, whose high ceilings and stark exterior were in contrast to the organization’s values of passion and connection. Our design creates a welcome plaza out front, complete with NEGHS’s brand and signature stone accents. To repurpose the warehouse’s garage area, we turned it into a corporate food court, retaining the overhead garage doors so it could transform into indoor/outdoor space.
This adaptive reuse project created a vibrant, contemporary office to meet the client’s future workflow goals. Its primary focus is to facilitate inter- and intradepartmental collaboration, so we included multi-function rooms and open, shared spaces. By using a Lean design process, the flexible building maximizes resources and minimizes waste. As departments grow and expand, the design plan will adapt to changing needs.
A natural color palette and daylight harvesting contribute to the comfortable and environmentally conscious design. Employees are motivated to produce exceptional work in a variety of formats in this invigorating and flexible space.
