Project Description

Redan
High School

Located in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Redan High School was challenged with more full-time students than ever and had outgrown its facility’s capacity. The school’s aging campus could no longer inspire its students to achieve educational excellence. Its classroom, cafeteria and common spaces were undersized and timeworn, so our goal was to revitalize, refresh and give the school a new face.

This addition demonstrates an innovative architectural synthesis of clean lines and contemporary design. We added two large wings and a media center hub—a bright, sunlit common area in which students can enjoy reading and technology as individuals or small groups. It has ample resources and soft seating where students can (and want to) stay for hours. The renowned fine arts and athletic programs received first-class facilities, and the innovating learning environment ensures students are equipped for success.

Our design increased the size of the campus by nearly 30%, which kept Redan in good standing with the Department of Education. Redan High School is now a distinct, modern, and fresh presence that has become a point of pride for the community.

K-12 Education

Our Education Studio infuses passion for student-centered learning environments into our designs for private and public K-12 education providers. These purpose-driven spaces impact more than 750,000 students by encouraging collaborative learning and exploration. We look at the evolving needs of K-12 education facilities and develop effective, engaging and flexible environments where students can thrive.
