Paulding Hospital

CDH Partners began work on the green field site in Hiram, Georgia with a single medical office building completed in 2007. The site was master planned for a future hospital and additional medical office building. CDH Partners continues to serve WellStar as the design firm for replacement hospital and the second medical office building. This facility is the second phase for the 33-acre development. The new eight-story hospital will open with 56 beds but will have the capacity to expand to a 112-bed facility. While it will serve as a community hospital, it will also feed complex cases to one of the systems larger campus hospitals. It will employ more than 300 people and will include 30 emergency exam rooms, 10 pediatric emergency exam rooms, and more than six surgery suites. The need to replace the 50 year-old existing hospital came as a response to Paulding County’s rapid growth and need for a state-of-the-art acute health-care campus. Over the next five years, the county’s population is expected to grow an average of 3.45 percent annually. Construction on the replacement hospital began 2012 with the initial phase scheduled to open in April 2014.
