Woodstock Middle and High School
Located on a 100-acre site in Cherokee County, this 380,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility contains both a middle school and a high school. In creating a master plan for the campus, CDH Partners linked the two facilities at its core with a shared auditorium, kitchen, and central energy plant. The design provides gathering spaces where natural light fills the facility. Window walls are used in media area and hallways to provide a sense of spaciousness.
Each school maintains its own identity and is distinguished from one another by alternating brick colors, manipulation of the aluminum window wall system, and unique tower and roof profiles. This individuality is best illustrated in the separate gymnasia, which emerge from the junction of the instructional wings, as highly articulated design elements. Woodstock Middle and High School is currently one of the largest secondary educational facilities in Georgia.
