Spivey Station
Innovativeness was crucial for designing a space that further enhanced the convenience of Spivey Station Surgery Center. The center opted to use integrated operating rooms which are designed to meet the specific and immediate needs of each surgical procedure. Patient experiences are visually enhanced due to an illuminated reception desk that serves as a focal point for the entire space that takes the guesswork out of navigating the reception space. A trellis stretches across the ceiling from the reception desk, creating visual interest and reinforcing the importance of the desk. Backlit acrylic panels cover the front of the desk and create a soothing indirect light in the waiting area. Partial height partitions throughout the waiting space alleviate issues of noise and privacy and the curved translucent panels on top create a calming, wavy line for the eye to follow across the space.
