Our Education & Research Studio is excited to begin a partnership with Atlanta Public Schools (APS) on an addition and renovation for Humphries Elementary School. Our design aims to improve the learning environment for the students through the integration of 21st-century education concepts and added safety and security features. The improvements also address the community with an updated presence and new entry, as well as providing a better working environment for the faculty.
Construction will begin in just a few short weeks as Winter Construction Company helps our team bring the design to life. Throughout the project, we have prioritized APS’s desired improvements while staying within their budget. We look forward to seeing one special feature in particular—the transition of the school’s original auditorium into a 21st-century media center. The existing dramatic, double height ceilings and natural lighting convinced us to relocate the school’s media center there. The design adds grand amphitheater stairs and a student reading nook for a unique and striking environment.
Our team is dedicated to making this project a success for APS and the Humphries Elementary School Community, which means creating a space designed specifically for the students, families, faculty and staff of this school. We are looking forward to completing this project in July 2020 so the students can enjoy their new environment for the 2020-2021 school year. Go Roadrunners!
